While there has been notable progress in Human Resource Management (HRM) over recent decades, there remains a pervasive sense of unmet potential. HRM has often been entangled in public relations and marketing endeavors rather than earnestly considering how to strike a harmonious balance between the needs of employees and employers. The Dilemma: Employers prioritize extracting maximum output at minimal cost. Employees seek maximum rewards with minimal exertion. Though seemingly contradictory, deeper reflection reveals a nuanced line that warrants greater exploration. Perhaps the starting point lies in empathetically considering each party's perspective. Genuine empathy is paramount. A guiding principle to remember is that "Life is not just about work, and work is not just about life."
